Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Skillorbit handles personal information. Creating an account means you have read this policy. We do not sell personal data, and we do not operate invented data-trading programs.
Effective 11 September 2026
Skillorbit service information
1. What we store
To operate the directory we store information related to your account and activity, including:
- Account and profile: email, password hash or OAuth identifiers, nickname, avatar, and optional biography, personal website and GitHub
- Submissions and listing metadata you create or edit (name, description, categories, price information, external link, cover)
- Ratings (one per user per Skill; they cannot be modified or deleted after submission)
- Comments, one-level replies, comment likes and reports
- Claim evidence and claim-case records
- Security and moderation audit logs
- Basic product analytics such as counts of Skills, users, pending reviews, reports and claims, and 30-day counts of new users, submissions and outbound clicks
2. Sign-in and authentication
Authentication supports email and password, Google and GitHub. Verified identities with the same email are merged. OAuth profiles initially use the provider avatar and nickname; you may edit them later. Until email verification is complete you cannot submit, claim, rate, comment, reply or report.
3. Google Analytics and consent
We load Google Analytics (measurement ID G-1QV81YSQQ2) only after you explicitly choose “Allow analytics.” It helps us understand page visits, traffic sources, browser and device types, approximate region and site usage. We do not enable ad storage, ad user data or ad personalization.
Declining analytics does not affect core features. Your choice is stored as a versioned preference in this browser and can be changed at any time through “Privacy settings.” When you withdraw consent, we stop subsequent analytics and delete Google Analytics cookies accessible to this site.
4. Email notifications
Product events produce in-app notifications, which cannot be turned off, and optional email notifications controlled by one global email switch. Authentication, password-recovery and account-security emails cannot be disabled.
5. Claim evidence
Claim evidence is administrator-only and is submitted with an explicit privacy notice. We retain claim metadata, decisions, reviewer notes, timeline and file hashes. Raw evidence files are retained for 12 months, or until six months after an active dispute ends. Valid account-deletion or data-deletion requests may override ordinary retention.
6. How we use information
We use this information to operate the directory, review content, handle claims and reports, keep accounts secure, send required notices, and inspect the first-release basic analytics. We do not use personal data for undocumented advertising networks or data brokerage.
7. We do not sell data
We do not sell personal data. Hosting, authentication and object-storage providers that run this service process data as needed to operate it. We do not invent additional commercial data-sharing programs.
8. Data after account deletion
You may delete your account from account settings. Published Skills may remain public with an account-deleted marker and become platform-managed and claimable. Ratings, comments and replies may remain in anonymized form. Unpublished submissions and ordinary notifications are deleted. Security and moderation logs follow the claim-evidence retention rules.
9. Your choices
You can view and edit your public profile and use “Privacy settings” on any page to allow, decline or withdraw Google Analytics consent. Optional product email can be turned off with the global switch; authentication and security email cannot. To delete your account or request deletion of raw claim evidence, use account settings; if that is not possible, contact the administrator through the copyright complaint page.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The revised text will appear on this page with an updated effective date.
